House. Possibly C17, early C19 remodelling and additions. Stone rubble with
slate roof, gabled at left end and left gable end slate hung. Large chamfered
stone stack on left gable end and axial to wing on right. Main range and right
projecting wing originally single depth extended by C19 2-storey rear outshut. 2
storeys. 2 + 1 window front under 2 gables to left and gabled wing on right.
Central 9 panel entrance door under C19 slated canopy carried on brackets.
Ground floor windows left and right tall 4-light windows with thin mullion each
side of centre and marginal leading under stone voussoirs and hood mould. 3 first
floor windows are C19 24-pane hornless sashes in exposed sash boxes below stone
voussoirs and hood moulds. Blind medallions above in each gable appear to be C17.
C19 bell in frame under small pyramid roof above outshut. C19 cast iron railings
to front left of wall to entrance gates. House said to have been remodelled in
1810, although present exterior looks circa 1840s.
Interior not thoroughly inspected. Kitchen under rear left leanto contains early
coal-burning oven.
