TRELOWARREN
Granary within kitchen garden walls

GV
II
Granary. Probably early C19. Timber framed and rendered walls carried on twelve granite staddle stones. Hipped scantle slate roof with coved eaves cornice, clay ridge tiles. Rectangular-on-plan structure carried on 4 x 3 staddle stones. Doorway at one end window at the other, otherwise walls unpierced. The staddle stones are tall and tapered with dome-headed capstones. Ledged door and small paned window. Interior not inspected.

Granaries are rare in this part of Cornwall and this one is very complete, however, there may originally have been some louvered openings. (See also The Granary, Chybilly Farm.)
