1/39 Gateway to Old Vicarage

Pedestrian gate to the Old Vicarage (q.v.). c.1840-50. Rendered stone,
with slate copings to pediment.
A wide line-rusticated gate to south garden on axis of main elevation of
house, and set within garden wall by east entrance to churchyard (q.v.).
Gate is capped by an unmoulded triangular pediment. Rustication joints
turn to form false voussoirs to round headed arched opening. Framed and
battened gate with a spiked semicircular iron bar in fanlight.
