TL 51 NE AYTHORPE RODING AYTHORPE RODING HALL

GV II

Late C16 manor house, altered in C18 and C20. Originally comprised 2 bays at the
N end on an E-W orientation, with 2 parallel ranges of 3 bays extending S from
it, with central chimney stack, and entrance to S. Roof altered in C18 to form
a continuous N-S valley, and hipped. Entrance moved to E wall circa 1960. 2 storeys.
Clasped purlin roofs. Beams with ovolo mouldings. Sited immediaely E of a 4-sided
moat in good order. RCHM 2.
