Offices. Early C19. White brick and slates.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. A raised stucco band to the plain
parapet. 2 window range, small-paned sashes in deep reveals
with gauged brick heads and projecting stone sills, 9-pane to
the top storey, 12-pane to the first storey. The tripartite
small-paned sash with diminished side-lights to the ground
storey, used as a display window, is a C20 reproduction. A
continuous plain fascia with the entablature supported on
solid moulded brackets. An Edwardian side door has 4 sunk
panels with moulded surrounds and a rectangular fanlight with
glazing-bars. At the rear, a narrow mid-C19 red brick 3-storey
extension with one window to each storey, all small-paned
sashes in deep reveals with stone sills.
INTERIOR: cellar below front range mainly walled in coursed
kidney flint; below the rear range a roomy area with walls
rendered over rubble stone, probably used originally as a
kitchen, with a rear window, a blocked side window, and a
fireplace. An original stair, with stick balusters, curved
handrail and moulded newels rises the whole height of the
building. Panelled internal shutters to the first storey
windows.
