Farmhouse C17 or earlier. Shale and cob with Delabole slate roof (probably
originally thatched) with stone and brick chimneys. U-shaped plan formed by main
C17 south range with C17 or earlier wing to back of lower (west) end and single
storey wing to rear of upper end. 2 storey rendered asymmetrical 3 window south
front with doorway right of centre. C20 windows over slate sills. Stone gable
external stack to left and brick chimney over slate sills. Stone gable external
stack to left and brick chimney over external stack to right gable. West wall of 2
storey outbuilding to left. Door to left then massive external stone lateral stack
with scantle roofed projections probably for ovens to left and front with quadrant
shaped oven to right partly blocking ground floor window with single lattice
ventilator and window over. Interior of this part inspected but fireplace blocked.
