Farmhouse, now 2 farm cottages. C17 or earlier. Painted slatestone rubble and cob
with scantle slate roofs and asbestos slate on hipped wing and gable, axial and
lateral stacks. Originally 2-3 room through passage plan but extended with wings
C17 and C18. Built end on to slope. 4-window east front has wide 3-light window in
projecting bay to upper left end with 12 pane, 2-light wooden casement over in
mostly cob walling under hipped roof. Main range has 4-light oak mullioned window
10 panes each light and ovolo moulded oak lintel; wide doorway and 2-light casement
8 panes per light at lower level to right and later single storey cob lean-to
beyond. First floor has two 4-light casements, 10 panes per light with evidence for
the opening over the door having been deeper originally, possibly for 2-storey
porch. 2-light casement 6 panes each to right under lower eaves. Wide eaves are
carried on shaped wooden brackets. External lateral stack to rear upper end.
