Mill house. Probably late C17, extended then remodelled early C19. Painted stone
rubble and cob walls, mostly wooden lintels. Grouted and bitumen covered scantle
slate roof with brick chimneys over gable end to south east and to south west gable
of rear wing. Further chimney over side wall (north west), possibly originally a
gable end but remodelled when wing altered. Ground slopes down to north. Originally
probably 3-room through passage plan, then L-shaped with wing added to rear of lower
end circa late C17/early C18, then roof heightened or remodelled. 2 storeys.
Slightly irregular 3-window north east front with doorway between windows 2 and 3.
4-panel top-glazed door. Doorway and wide window to right are at lower level. Window
has paired 16-pane sashes with crown glass. First floor windows are taller. 16-pane
hornless sashes to left, C20 window inserted to right of doorway and 12-pane hornless
sash centrally over wide ground floor window. Ground floor windows to left of
doorway are 16-paned horned sashes.
