House. Circa 1830 with later C19 bay to left side. Rubble, rendered and lined out,
hipped slate roof with deep eaves on brackets and brick ridge stacks.
Double depth plan with central entrance leading to entrance hall with longitudinal
corridor; 2 principal rooms to rear facing garden, with stair hall to right of
entrance hall and lower 2-storey service wing to right.
2 storeys on plinth and symmetrical 3-bay front. Centre bay broken forward with
hipped roof over, double 2-panelled doors with overlight and sidelights, pilasters
and cornice, first floor 12 pane sash in moulded architrave with apron. Each bay to
right and left has blind window at ground floor in moulded architrave and 15-pane
sash at first floor with architrave resting on cill band course. Lower 2-storey
service wing to right with end bay slightly broken forward, bow-fronted with blocked
windows. Single storey bay to front has ground floor 12-pane sash with cornice on
consoles and 2 C20 sashes at first floor. Left side has 12-pane sash at ground and
first floor to right, canted bay to left with margin-glazed sashes and balcony above,
probably of the later C19. 12-pane sash at first floor.
The rear is the garden front, ground floor has 12-pane sash with sidelights and
cornice to left and right, central blind recess, all with architraves; first floor
has 2 triple and central single lights, all with round heads and pilasters, 8-pane
sashes; band course. Service wing to left has end bay broken forward with 12-pane
sashes at ground floor and 6-pane sashes at first floor, ridge stack.
Interior Principal rooms have moulded plaster cornices and marble chimneypieces.
Open-well stair with paired turned balusters and wreathed handrail. To end right of
main range, kitchen and former gun room.
