House, with service wing partially converted as a separate house. Circa 1840, with
later C19 additions and some later alterations. Stone rubble, rendered and lined
out. Service range partially slate-hung. Slate roof with gable ends and ridge
tiles, deep bracketed eaves; axial stacks to main range.
Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance and principal room to front left and
right; along the right side, facing the garden, there is a central room and a rear
right room with bow to rear. The service range is at the left side, forming a U-
plan, with 2 wings projecting to left with an inner courtyard. Italianate style.
Exterior: 2 storeys on plinth, symmetrical 3 bay front; bay to right and left broken
forward with pedimental gable, each with large 12-pane sash at ground floor and
smaller 12-pane sash at first floor. Central portico with Doric columns, entablature
and balustrade above. Double panelled doors with overlight and sidelights with
decorative glazing, moulded surround, 2-light casement at first floor to centre.
Lower 2-storey service wing to left and projecting to front with C20 door. Front of
wing has 2 C20 casements at first floor. Right side of 3 bays with central bow;
ground and first floor right and left have 12-pane sashes, bow also has 12-pane sash
at ground and first floor. At the rear, bow to left with pilasters and balustrade,
one plate-glass sash to right and left and C20 window at first floor. To right, two
12-pane sashes at ground and first floor. At the left side, the service forms a U-
plan, with 1-room plan wing to left now in separate occupation. The middle range has
a cellar, with segmental-headed opening, three 2-light casements with L hinges at
first floor. 2 flat roofed dormers with 2-light casements; middle range slate-hung.
The wing to left is single storey, with gable end stack; two 2-light casements with L
H hinges on the inner side and C20 porch. Front range has C20 window and 12-pane
sash at first floor on inner side, cellar door to outer side. Single storey shed
attached to gable end.
Interior: Not inspected.
Rosecraddoc Manor is set in landscaped gardens, with a drive to south, where there is
a Lodge, now Gate Cottage (q.v.).
