Early C19 two storeyed stuccoed and rough cast row, much altered on ground
floor. Low pitch gable end slate roofs with shaped brackets to eaves.
"Baskerville House" has flanking pilaster strips. 2 windows each to 1st
floor, except for "Lake's" which has 3. Recessed sashes, glazing bars
intact except for "Lake's". The last bay of "La Boutique", which might
be slightly earlier, has a flush framed sash. "Baskerville House" has
a later C19 small canted bay. Ground floor shop fronts all modernised,
though part of cornice survives on "Ruths" and "Charles Wood" and "Lake's"
retains a cornice with shaped brackets. Only "Baskerville House" retains
original doorway, recessed door of 6 flush panels, 4 glazed, panelled
reveals, roughcast surround, cornice over.

The listed buildings on the West Side of Old Fore Street form a group.
