Mansion. Mid C.19. Chevron dressed sandstone. Westmorland
slate roofs, in diminishing courses; stone gable and ridge
copings; 4 stacks at gables. Rectangular centre block flanked by
lower wings. All of 2 storeys. Centre Block: 3 bays. Canted
stone-aproned 2-storey bay windows to L. & R. with timber sashes
with glazing bars; moulded cornices. Central Tuscan portico with
pilasters, entablature including narrow cornice. Door: part-
glazed, with glazing bars; rectangular fanlight with geometric
pattern glazing bars; moulded stone architrave. Sash window with
glazing bars above portico. Moulded cornice below shallow
parapet to front (S) elevation only. Wings: each of one bay with
glazing-bar-lights, with lower centre section operating as a
horizontal sash. Painted sills and keystones. Simple
fixed-light Venetian staircase window in centre of rear elevation
of centre block.
