Schoolmaster's house, c.1850, now a private dwelling. Brick ground floor
with chamfered plinth, painted stone quoins and dressings. Timber-framed
first floor with rough-rendered brick nogging. Welsh slate roofs; brick
stacks. l½ storeys, 2 bays. Gabled entrance front, with slightly jettied
upper-storey. At left a boarded door with scrolled iron strap hinges,
up 2 steps, in chamfered Tudor-arched quoin surround under brick flat arch.
Projecting bay window at right, with 3 chamfered mullioned lights in front
and one in returns, under hipped roof. Upper floor close studded, with sill
rail, collar, curved tension-braces and 3-light casement window.
Mouchette-pierced bargeboards with turned pendants, spike finial missing.
Lateral stack on right pitch. Similar 2-light window on ground floor of
right return, and slightly-projecting gabled bay at right, similar to
entrance front but with plain bargeboards. Single-storey rear outshut.
Early/mid C20 rear extension is not of special interest. Included for
historic interest.
