foldyard, c,10m west of
Wheatlands Farmhouse.

Barn, mid/late C18; and 3 byres, early/mid C19. Foldyard roofed over in
mid/late C19. Barn: brick with dressed sandstone plinth and dressings; and
mid C20 concrete tiled roof. Byres: dressed sandstone; clay pantile roofs;
all roofs have stone ridge and gable copings and block kneelers. Foldyard
has timber "Yorkshire-boarded"roof. 2-storey barn and single-storey byres
on 4 sides of foldyard. Barn has chamfered plinth and quoins. Gable ends
have cart openings with mid C20 boarded sliding doors, below partly-blocked
windows under segmental relieving arches. Breathers in north and west
faces. West byre has 3 similar doors in west face and blocked doorway in
south gable end. South byre has blocked doorway in south face. East byre
has similar door in south gable end. Foldyard has 2-span hipped roof.
Interior of barn has gallery at east end, and roof with triple-collared
principals and butt pulins.
