Stable block. Dated 1797 on keystone. Red English garden wall bond
brick with stone dressings, slate roof and lead and timber bell-cote.
Open courtyard plan of two storeys. Courtyard front: stone plinth, 7
bay central range with projecting wings to either side of one-bay
width and 3 bay's depth. Three central coach-house bays slightly
projecting with rusticated stone piers at corners and between three
sets of double doors. Semi-circular brick arches to doors all with
keystones set to centre bearing the inscribed date. Stone band at
eaves level with pediment above having circular clock face to centre.
Octagonal bell cote above with lead cupola and ball finial. To either
side are 2 bays within semi-circular-headed recessed arches at ground
floor level with a stone band separating the floors. Stone sills to
all windows. Upper sash windows of 4 x 2 panes. Courtyard fronts of
wings each have 2 lateral ground floor doors with central 3 x 4 pane
sash windows all within semi-circular headed slightly recessed panels.
First floor windows of 4 x 2 sash panes, the two lateral windows on
the left hand front being blind and the central bay at right
containing a loft door.
