Cottage probably mid C17 altered later C19 for Rowland Egerton
Warburton. Front oak-framed on brown brick plinth and with brick
panel at each end; ends and rear rebuilt in brown brick; clay tile
roof. Small framing surmounted by C19 plaster frieze with sgraffito
of Tudor roses and scrollwork. 1 storey plus attic; 3 windows.
Boarded door with wrought iron hinges and latch of Arley estate type;
2 casements left and 1 right of door; small casement beneath eaves,
above doorway, of 3 panes to light landing. Brick plinthed chimney
with shaped stack on ridge, behind doorway, has 2 attached diagonal
flues; tall flush chimney on left gable.
Interior could not be inspected, but oak beams are visible and there
is stated to be an altered cruck frame. Stair rises to front opposite
door.
