Weir with 5 floodgates and access footbridge, circa 1890, of red and
yellow stone and cast iron, Baroque in character, 5 sluices, each with
gates and raising gear separated by round-ended piers of banded
rusticated stone. Footbridge, each span on a pair of arched cast iron
beams, has a segmental fronted platform facing downstream over each
sluice. Rusticated stair of 14 steps, 4 replaced in concrete.
