Farmhouse, 1695, altered. Brown brick of irregular bond; graded grey
slate roof. 2 storeys plus attics: cross-wing left; main wing with
2-storey porch and 2 windows to each storey right. Plain 3-course
brick band at 1st floor. Chimney just behind ridge at junction of
wings; flush chimney on right gable. Gabled porch has basket arch to
front and bricked-up basket arches to sides, blocked casement to 2nd
storey with stone above MM:F:RF:1695 and blocked small round opening
in gable. The windows to both main storeys are replaced
cross-casements; replaced wood casement to attic in cross-wing gable;
blocked and altered windows in right end-gable. Replaced door.
Interior: Door opens immediately to right of main chimney; formerly
back-to-back inglenooks, the left one blocked and the right one
altered; square open-well oak stair to upper storey and attic; some
oak beams including one ovolo in upper floor; a nice boat-shaped
queen-post truss with turned-in principal rafters and curved struts in
cross-wing; some 3-board doors and one 6-panel door; cellar not
inspected.
