Public House. Dated on datestone J H Red Flemish bond brick with
1764
slate roof. Three storeys. Entrance front: Four bays. Doorway at
right of centre with moulded surround and porch supported on brackets.
To right and left are three-light cambered-headed casement windows
with projecting keystones. Three similar windows to first floor with
blank cambered headed panel over door containing diamond-shaped
datestone. Similar arrangement to second floor, the blank panel
having no datestone. C20 inserted doorway at left. To left of this
is a blank gable-ended addition of later, probably Mid C19, date. To
right is a mid C19 addition with two doors to either side of a central
carriageway now with a concrete lintel. Large 3-light first floor
window, equal in height to the first and second floors of the earlier
block. To right of this is a projecting gabled wing of three floors
with three-light windows to the ground and first floors and a blind
2-light second floor window. Wooden covered staircase to the
re-entrant angle between this wing and the main block.
