Pair of attached houses. Circa 1800, with some C20 alterations and additions.
Slatestone rubble with stone dressings. Hipped asbestos slate roof with axial stack
with brick shaft.
Plan: Pair of attached houses, each of 2-room plan, with 1-room to front and one to
rear, all heated from the central axial stack. Porch entrance at the outer side of
each house; formerly had paired entrances to front. In late C20, a 2-storey addition
was built at the left side.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front. First floor has central blind
window with painted Chinoiserie margin glazing; 2-light 6-pane casement to left and
2-light casement with Chinoiserie margin glazing to right; all with cambered arches.
Ground floor has 4 windows, the inner 2 formerly doors, now with 2-light casements
inserted. Outer casements are 2-light with Gothic margin glazing. Band course.
Porch with hipped roof to right with plank door. C20 2-storey addition to left with
door and 2-light casement. All margin glazing is in the same style. Right side has
4-pane sash at ground floor in the porch, hipped dormer above with single casement
with margin glazing. The range to right has ground floor half-glazed door and single
casement with margin glazing; first floor has 2 similar casements. At the rear,
blind door to left, and French window to right with margin glazing. First floor has
blind and painted Gothic casement to left and 2-light casement to right. The C20
addition to right is asbestos slate-hung.
