Farmhouse, now house. Circa late C17 - early C18, with alterations of circa early
C19 and few later alterations. Slatestone rubble with brick dressings. Slate roof
with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: 2-room plan, with a larger room to right and smaller room to left, and cross
passage between; integral outshut along the whole of the rear, with larger kitchen to
right and smaller unheated dairy to left. There is a later C19 wash house attached
to rear of the dairy, and a small C19 single storey outhouse attached at the left
end, heated from a stack to rear left.
Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 3-window front. All windows are C19 16-pane
sashes with cambered brick arches and stone keystones. Off-centre to left is a C20
glazed door with cambered brick arch and stone keystone. Attached at the left end is
the outhouse of single storey; this has a window and door opening with cambered brick
arches, slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The right end has large external
stack. To right, the loft in the outshut has C19 2-light 4-pane casement with timber
lintel. The rear is in painted stone rubble. At ground floor to left a C19 2-light
4-pane casement; at ground floor to right a C19 2-light 3-pane casement with timber
lintel. The rear is in painted stone rubble. At ground floor to left a C19 2-light
4-pane casement; at ground floor to right a C19 2-light 3-pane casement. The single
storey wash house forms a rear porch, and is rendered, with C20 window at the rear
and right side and C20 door at the left side. This conceals a plank door leading
directly into the kitchen. The rear of the outhouse to right has two plank doors and
4-pane casement with brick segmental arches.
Interior: The room to front right has some C18 moulded beams and some roughly hewn
beams remaining. End fireplace with C19 mantel. There is a straight stair inserted
in the rear of the room, with stick balusters. The outshut has slate floor
throughout and slate shelves in the dairy.
