SX 36 SW QUETHIOCK BLUNTS

12/129 Methodist Chapel

II

Bible Christian Chapel now Methodist Chapel. 1843 (datestone). Stone rubble
rendered with asbestos slate roof with gabled ends. Brick stack in left-hand gable
end. Comprises chapel to right and room to left above stables at lower ground level.
The stables were for visiting ministers, now garage and sunday school room.
South front: chapel to right, single storey with 12-pane sash with datestone below.
Room to left in slight projection with 12-pane sash over double doors to stables
below. Open timber porch in angle with slate hipped roof and shaped timber fascias.
Within, the porch steps rise to plank door to Sunday School and to chapel, both
approached by ramp with iron railings and gate with trefoiled finials on uprights.
Interior simple pitch pine furnishings including gothic style rostrum, organ and
benches.
Built on plot of land given by John Snell.
