House, now divided into 2. Datestone C M H
AD 1890. Snecked rubblestone with slate
hood over ground floor. Rendered above. Slate roof with decorative sprockets
below eaves and plain barge boards. Parallel roofs with double gable ends and
linked by central ridge and rendered brick axial stacks in centre. Double depth
plan with outshut to rear. 2 storeys, almost symmetrical 3 window east front.
Ground floor with 2 tall 8-pane lights and central, part glazed door. Each
beneath slate hoods with shaped timber brackets. Continuous slate pentice hood
above. To first floor 3 wooden framed openings with slate hoods and timber cills
supported by shaped timber brackets. These contain 2 small 2-light windows and
datestone in centre. The roof sections above the first floor windows are raked at
a lower pitch. In double gable ends, ground and first floor with two 4-light
casements with glazing bars, slate hoods and moulded brackets. In left-hand rear
gable end, door beneath slate hood as on front. Outshut in lean-to to rear added
circa early C20. Cast-iron rainwater gutters and drainpipes complete with
castellated hoppers and trefoiled brackets.
