II
Farmhouse, 1893, by Douglas and Fordham for the 1st Duke of
Westminster. Brown brick with blue diapers; grey slate roof with red
ridge tiles. Asymmetrical 2 storey farmhouse with 2 gables and 1 half
dormer to front. Terra Cotta copings to gables with ball finials at
bases and ridges. Two chimneys with sandstone plinths and spiral
flues of moulded brick, with projecting caps. Windows surrounded and
mullioned in hard red moulded brick with iron casements (leaded
glazing removed). Gabled projecting porch with basket-arched doorway
containing boarded double doors of oak on ornate wrought iron hinges.
