House. Circa 1710 with early C19 service addition and alterations. Squared,
dressed and coursed stone to north facade, ashlar to south front, irregular
coursed rubble to side walls. Freestone dressings, copings, quoins, slate roof.
3 storeys and basement, 5 bay north front with 1 storey left hand service addition.
Basement has keyed oculi either side of central door and cross mullioned windows
with segmental heads. Similar cross mullions with leaded pane glazing to all
3 storeys but those in the top storey have straight heads. Central doorway with
moulded architrave and triple keyed head. Stone doorcase with Ionic pilasters,
pulvinated frieze and entablature which develops into string course. 8 panel
2-leaf door with top 4 panels glazed. Chamfered and rusticated quoins, moulded
string courses and cornice. Stone balustrade enclosing basement area returned to
walls at each end. Double span roof with end stone stacks. Early C19 south
front with 12 x 6 pane sashes to ground floor, 6 pane sashes to lst floor and
3 segmental headed dormers. Central Tuscan Doric porch, glazed door.
Interior. Ground floor right hand room has 1 raised and fielded panel wall.
Circa 1710 staircase with ramped handrail and thin balusters possibly resited.
