Canal lock, circa 1805 by J.Fetcher, Engineer (consultant T.Telford).
Engineering bricks in English Bond with metal and wood gates. The
upper single gate (west) is metal, the lower pair are of wood with
wooden beams. Sandstone dressing to curved approach walls but
lock-side edging blocks now replaced by blue bricks.
