4 Houses in a short, uniform terrace. C1700. Coursed rubble, freestone
dressings, pantile roofs, stone ridge, ashlar stacks, raised in brick at each end.
2 handed pairs of vertical houses. 3 storeys, 4 windows, 3-light, casement
except second floor which has 2 lights, all with edge-moulded mullions, many
casements replaced, centrally as 2-pane sashes, 2 sets of paired plank doors in
chamfered lintels and jambs; at each end are single storey hipped wings, one
window with reserved ovolo-moulded frame, door and tall brick end stack. At rear,
4 ground floor scullery windows under timber lintels, each with grille and door,
each first floor room has inserted 4-pane sash in flush surround. Interior: thin
plank screen, topped by wavy ventilation grille, makes lobby behind each door,
then returns to divide off scullery, ogee-stopped, chamfered beams throughout,
ground floor has fireplaces with adjacent cupboards and winder stairs which rise
full height, first floor rooms have moulded fire surrounds. Empty and decaying at
time of survey (October 1985).
