Canal aqueduct (over River Dane) circa 1830, William Crosley engineer.
Of reddish ashlar sandstone with cast iron railings to abutments.
Semi-circular arch of about 35 foot span has rendered supporting
masonry, imposts and voussoirs. The flanking moulded pilasters are
overlapped by raking buttresses. Moulded string courses immediately
above arch and at towpath level. Stone parapets with square copings;
stone blocks above pilasters. Curved abutments with square copings
surmounted by railings with square arrowhead-capped railings between
urn-capped main balusters. The aqueduct is approximately 45 feet
high.
