II
Two cottages in row, gable to street. C17. Timber framed with
colourwashed wattle and daub, and brick noggings, extended in
flint/cob and partly rendered. Thatched roof. One storey and
attics. Five bays. Original structure of 3 bays, framing 3 panels
high with corner braces, later extended both ends by 1 bay.
Boarded doors with glazed panels. Various windows. Four flush
dormers each side. Stack at north-west gable of framed section and
later stack to end gable. Roof half hipped.
Interior not seen. Chamfered ceiling beam with step and scoop
steps through two eastern bays of original build. Fire lintel of
rear cottage has inscription reading IMIG 1655 and 1615.
