(Formerly listed as Upper
G.V. II Fold Farmhouse) THE VILLAGE
Probably formerly 2 farmhouses, now 3 dwellings. C17 with late C18
or early C19, and recent alterations. Hammer dressed stone to right,
rendered to left. Quoins. Stone slate roof with hollow chamfered
gable copings on cut kneelers. Ashlar stacks and C19 brackets to
gutter. Two storeys. The left end, now 2 dwellings, has blocked
central doorway with chamfered reveals and deep lintel. To right
is C19 doorway, and one 3-light double chamfered window, and the same
to left. Continuous drip mould is taken up over original doorway.
To 1st floor are two 4-light windows, each with 2 mullions removed,
and one 3-light window. The right hand end has mainly late C18 or
early C19 openings, and has been recently altered in keeping. Central
doorway with deep lintel and chamfered reveals with 3-light window to
left and right, the latter with added extra light. To 1st floor one
2-light and one 6-light window have been altered from earlier openings.
Former ground floor drip mould, as left part, has been removed. One
2-light double chamfered window on right side. The interior of this
end has late C18 or early C19 fireplaces and one upper floor fireplace
which may be C17. One tie-beam is inscribed 1681.
