3 houses, formerly stables and coachhouse to Belfield House,
Belfield Park Avenue (qv). Late C18. Large square Portland
stone block, slate roof. A large hipped 2-storey block, with
the section nearest the road of less depth than the remainder.
EXTERIOR: the main front faces E, with No.1 having a 4-window
width; at first floor are 2 small-pane casements, and two
6-pane replacement lights, above 3 deep 6-pane sashes, without
horizontal bars, all these to segmental heads. In bay 2 is a
wide arch, with 4-panel door with transom light, and
side-lights with panels. A deep mid band, and a canted stone
eaves band.
The return to the left is also with 4 windows, 2-light
small-pane casements at eaves level, above a large fixed
12-pane, a pair of doors under a 3-pane transom light under an
arch, and a 3-light casement to a segmental head. Beyond an
eaves stack, to the left, is a further bay, and the rear wall
has three 6-pane sashes at eaves level, and a ridge stack.
INTERIOR: partly inspected, has fittings of the early C20
conversion. Nos 2 & 3 have the frontage set back, but detailed
as for No.1, with 2+2 windows, 6-pane sashes, 2 of these to
segmental heads, above 4 arched openings with 3-pane transom
lights, 2 with sashes, and 2 with doors. The door to No.1 is
an early 4-panel with a 4-pane transom light. A mid-band and
eaves course, and a stack towards the right-hand end. The road
frontage has a 2-light small-paned casement and a plain
2-light above a fixed 4-pane. A further stack to the rear, and
three 2-light small-pane casements at each level.
