Large house now furniture store and attached wing wall. c1800. Ashlar
magnesian limestone, stone slate roof. 3 storeys, 5 bays with 2-storey wing
to rear left; attached wing wall to right masks 1-storey addition on right
return. Plinth; central 6-panel door and overlight with radial glazing bars
within a distyle Doric stone porch with fluted frieze and dentilled pediment.
Bays 2, 4 and 5 have projecting stone sills to sashes with glazing bars
beneath flat arches; bay 1 has 2 later doorways with 6-pane overlights (the
left door giving access to side passage). 1st floor: sill band to windows as
ground floor. 2nd floor: unequally hung 9-pane sashes linked by sill band
and set beneath dentilled eaves cornice. Rendered stacks to right end and to
left of bay 2 both have 9 flues; single-flue end stack on left. Wing wall
attached on right has blind window and doorway then returns forward with
another blind window and square end pier. Right return: porch in angle with
wing lit by iron roof lantern. Left return: wing lit by numerous sash
windows.
Interior : contemporary wooden staircase with square baluster rods, turned
newels and ramped handrail; two round arches into lobby off left side of
hall; fireplace in rear-right room has wooden surround with garlanded frieze.
