Canal flood lock at junction with R. Calder. Circa 1776.
Engineer John Smeaton. Stone sides and copings with some
recent alterations. Setted towpath on north side. 2 pairs
of wooden gates. The lock is large and forms a small basin.
The south side of the basin has no wall. The bridge which
springs from over the lst lock has recent span and is not included
in the item.
