Upper Lumb Farmhouse and
Upper Lumb Cottage

House and cottage, part of house now included with cottage. House early - mid C17,
cottage added C18, C20 alterations. Painted stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys,
house has 5 1st-floor windows, 1-bay cottage on left. Cottage: C20 lean-to addition
masks ground floor which has door on right; 3-single-light windows above. House:
double-chamfered mullion windows to ground floor, chamfered windows above. From
left, ground floor: 4-light now 2-light window, 5-light now 3-light window, 2-light
now 1-light fire window, same again, quoined moulded ogee-arched doorway with C20
door and dated and initialled lintel, 3-light now 2-light chamfered window, 2-light
now 1-light chamfered window. let floor: 4-light now 2-light window, same again,
three 2-light now 1-light windows. Stacks to left end of house and to ridge between
fire windows. Rear: 2 gabled wings to house; all windows C20. Interior: left
room of house, now part of a cottage, has small Tudor-arched moulded stone fire-
place. .
