Early or mid C18. Described by Robert Carr and John Watson in their West Riding
Book of Bridges, 1752. Width doubled in 1801. Stands on site of the earliest
bridge in the Huddersfield district. Ashlar. 2 segmental arches with rusticated
voussoirs and keystones. Cutwaters. Band. Parapet with coping, splayed at
approaches and terminating in cylindrical piers.
