C17, rebuilt in C18 and C19. Rubble. Pitched stone slate roof. East barn
has C17 door with chamfered surround, and monolithic lintel with depressed
arch. Kingpost trusses, probably C19. West barn has 2 outshuts on the south
side with catslide roof. Queenpost trusses probably C18. Linking cartsheds,
with doors to south side, apparently built on the site of the original farmhouse.
History. Jilly Royd is first mentioned in the Fountains Chartulary of Roo
(Bradley was a grange of Fountains Abbey).
