Terrace, originally known as Grange Terrace, bearing date plaque 'IC 1885'
Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. Vernacular Revival. 5
symmetrical bays flanked by gabled wings which project which have differing
detail. Drip course. All have double chamfered mullioned windows with transoms
to ground floor of 8 lights of cruciform type. Left hand wing ground floor
window projects with canted course over running to sill of 1st floor window of
10 lights which has hoodmould with decorative label stops. Under apex to gable
is arch-headed recess with date plaque. Coped gable with kneelers and finials.
Gable to right-hand wing similarly treated but with lean-to on return wall which
encloses porch with doorway with composite jambs, moulded imposts and semi-
circular arched-head with rebated surround over is arch-headed window of 2
lights. Coping to lean-to with kneeler and finial. The wing has a 10-light
window to ground floor with a stepped window of 2/4 lights with hoodmould and
decorated label stops. Columbarium to gable (blocked). Central range each has
doorway with stop chamfered jambs with wooden canopy over with ogee head carried
on curved braced consoles. Canted slate hood. Over is small 2-light window and
gabled attic dormer with coping, kneelers and finial to apex with 3-light window
beneath. Tall stacks of 4 coupled flues to each ridge. Rear treated similarly
to front with 3-light windows to each floor.
