House, and integral barn early C18. Watershot masonry, stone slate roof. 2
storeys. Double pile on plan. Quoins. 2 bays of double chamfered mullioned
windows of 5 lights to left and 6 lights to right with doorway to each floor
(some mullions removed) with composite jambs set between. One contemporary
stack to ridge and early C19 stack to gable. Return wall has double chamfered
mullioned windows of 3 lights to each floor (some mullions removed). Barn
breaks forward and has quoins, segmental arched cart entry on skewbacks with
composite jambs with moulded edge for door. Entry now forms portal in aisle.
Return walls of portal continue to form 2 tall stone Gothic pointed arches to
either side of threshing area which have well dressed voussoirs with chamfered
surround forming a barn of 3 bays. To either side of arch a chamfered light and
doorway with monolithic jambs. Rear has single storey outshut, at right angles
formerly kitchen which retains a beehive oven and large fireplace, with gable,
quoins, and 4-light double chamfered mullioned window. Rear of house retains
double chamfered mullioned windows of 2 lights and 4 lights with 4-light window
to lst floor.
Interior of house, fireplace with stone moulded shelf set in the corner of rear
room. Front room has a tall fireplace on corbelled jambs with moulded shelf.
