Circa 1830-40, probably built as mill owner's house. Two-storeys with main
front to south-east of 3 bays. Sandstone "brick", stone slate roof with spaced
dentil brackets to the eaves. The road front has three 2 light square mullion
windows. Three corniced chimneys set above eaves. The south-east front has
revealed C19 plate glass sashes, thin ashlar lintels and block sills. Pilastered
doorway with entablature. Moulded stone eaves cornice to this front. The gable
ends have round-headed central windows. Included for group value.
