Row of 8 back-to-back cottages now forming 4 through houses. Late
C18. Watershot masonry, dressed quoins, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 4
1st-floor windows. Paired doorways with tie-stone jambs. Some original
windows with plain stone surrounds but most widened with altered glazing.
Rear much altered with segmental bow windows c1980 inserted out of
sympathy. Only the doorways survive. Coped gables with kneelers, 2
stacks and the remains of gable stack to road. With Nos 36 to 42 (even)
it forms a pair of early back-to-back working class terraces. Included
for group value.
