Formerly incorporating Nos 44 and 46. Three 2-storey cottages of late C17 and early
to mid C18 build, altered early C19 when they were sub-divided into smaller tenements.
Sandstone "bricks" with large roughly dressed quoins. Weathered string over ground
floor of Nos 50 to 54. Common stone slate roof with corniced chimneys, saddlestones
on prominent shaped kneelers. Originally chamfered mullion windows, altered to
square mullion in early C19 and some modernised. No 5O has an original cottage
doorway with roll moulded edge and lintel inscribed TEA over date 1704. No 52 has
the second original doorway, moulded jamb and lintel, panel inscribed E over TA with
date 1684 below. No 56 has large lintel to doorway inscribed MB over date 1753.
Gable end of No 56 has blind round headed attic panel. Windows of rear elevations
contain traces of chamfered mullions.
