Built in 1814 by the Low Moor Iron Works Company. Of one-storey sandstone "brick",
single hall school of plain design. Stone slate low pitched gable end roof with
coped ends. Four tall pointed arched windows to each side in ashlar surrounds.
Lower south wing with 3 pointed arched windows. Some small modern extensions which
do not detract from the whole. Set in the south gable end is an oval ashlar plaque
with an elegantly cut inscription: "Erected by the Low Moor Company, Anno
Domini 1814".
