Barn. Mid-late C18. Watershot rubble, stone dressings, slate roof. 2 storeys,
3 bays comprising rear barn and 2 wings which project forward with gable ends
towards the road. Central bay has waggon entrance with chamfered surround, segmental
headed arch; 2 leaf plank doors. Ground-floor breather to left and right; keyed
oeil-de-boeuf above; now blocked: Left-hand wing has right-hand coach entrance
with plain surround, impost blocks, round head and projecting keystone; now partly
blocked to form window with plain surround and 6 pane sash. In centre is stable
entrance with similar surround; plank door. To left is ground-floor window with
plain surround and 9 pane sashes. 2 loft entrances on upper floor both have
plain surround; left-hand has plank door, right hand now blocked. Right-hand
wing is similar to left, but with single upper floor loft entrance. Shaped
modillions to eaves. Hipped roof. Gable end of both wings has chamfered quoins
and a blocked keyed pitching eye in each gable. Barn has shippon at lower level,
and exposed king post roof. Stabling for 2 horses in each wing contains lathe
and plaster finish and wooden fittings.
