3/45 Raven Flatt Farmhouse and
attached barn
II
Farmhouse and barn in one range. Late C17 or early C18. Rendered with stone
slate roof . Two storeys to farmhouse, of three bays with full height gabled
porch. The right bay and the front of the porch have large 2-light chamfered
stone mullion windows, of C19 date. To the left of the porch on the ground
floor are one light and a doorway, and five lights, the lights certainly
original, the doorway (which is chamfered though flat-headed) perhaps an early
alteration there is a common hoodmould. Over these are two chamfered windows of
three and four lights . The porch has a Tudor-arched doorway in the left return
with hollow spandrels over which is a blocked two-light window. Three stacks,
that to right tabled. Inside the porch is set against the main stack but the
fireplaces have been altered. The barn has a segmental cart entry in the
outshut now concealed by an outshut, and its roof timbers have been renewed.
