Built 183-40 as the workhouse. Stone, classical style, symmetrical front. Centre
portion of 3 storeys with hipped slate roof, 7 bays of 12-paned sash windows,
the centre 3 bays pedimented and having a pedimented doorway with round-arched
entrance and flanking round-arched windows. A 2-storeyed wing at each side, each
with 7 windows, the 2 end ones in gabled pavilions. Basement.
