Farmhouse. Early-mid C18. Coursed rubble, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2
first-floor windows, with rear outshut. Rough quoins. Central 4-panel door
in ashlar basket-arched architrave. To left, 1 bay of 2-light flat-faced
mullion windows in slightly-chamfered ashlar surrounds, with small sash
windows on ground floor and casements on first floor; to right, 1 bay of 4-
pane sash windows in ashlar architraves. End stacks. Rear of outshut:
flat-faced mullion and transom landing window in ashlar surround. Interior:
on the staircase an inscription "I.L. 1747" which may refer to John Lodge,
who owned extensive property in Bishopdale, and is probably the date of the
house.
