One early C18 building, rough ashlar, rising to slope of hill, left section being of four storeys, with a band above the ground floor window and door, both of which have plain stone frames. Three storeys to the rest of the building, with three windows in plain stone frames with rusticated keystones, hung sashes with glazing bars. A late C18 or early C19 ground floor bay, with fluted pilasters and ornamental frieze. A half-glazed door with plain stone frame and keystone. Stone slate roof with kneelers. A two-storey extension on right hand with one window in similar frame, over small door with plain wood lintel. Parapet with band in place of cornice to extension only. Four steps with iron handrail to modern door, door to left section set lower.
Interior: contains many original features. Most of the fielded panel doors and their surrounds, plus some cupboard doors. The cornices to many of the rooms survive as do some fireplaces. The magnificent staircase rises through four floors with a turned and gadrooned baluster to each tread. This staircase is lit by a long stair light window with glazing bars.
