6/47 Boundary wall adjoining
stable block to The
Chantry
GV II
Boundary wall. C18 or C19. Coursed limestone rubble. Wall continues left of
stable block (qv The Chantry) in same plane to height of c.3 m with 2-course
saddleback stone coping; runs to south-west corner of churchyard, then returns
at right angles along south side of churchyard to join with churchyard boundary
(qv). Because of rise in height of churchyard, wall is higher on The Chantry
side. With the Church of St Michael (qv) and The Chantry this wall is an
important part of the ensemble, linking the two properties visually.
