ST 93 SE CHILMARK THE RIDGE
(east side)

1/97 Nos 81 and 82

GV II

Two semi-detached cottages. Circa 1700 and C19. Limestone ashlar,
tiled roof, brick stacks. L-plan, gable-end to road. 2-storey, 2-
window north front. Planked door in stone-chamfered case, 1-light
chamfered window to right, 2-light and 3-light recessed chamfered
mullioned windows with hoodmoulds to left. First floor has 3-light
and 2-light chamfered mullioned windows. Coped verges. Right
return is gable-end to road; C20 mullioned window with hoodmould
to ground floor and 1-light chamfered window to first floor. Rear
has planked door in chamfered stone case with gabled C19 porch, C20
2-light and 1-light chamfered mullioned windows. Rear wing has one
2-light mullioned window to ground and first floors, gable of wing
has 2-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds and reset datestone:
IM/1655.
Interior not inspected. An estate cottage on the Fonthill Estate.
