Detached house. Late C17 (dated 1667 on internal door); remodelled early C18
and mid C19. Rubble with freestone dressings and French quoins; hipped slate
roof; moulded parapet and cornice; rubble stacks. 2 storeys and attics.
5 bays: glazing bar sash windows with arched overlights in raised plain surrounds
with quoins and keystone; moulded string course over the ground floor. Central
panelled door; doorcase with Doric pilasters and carved shell hood on consoles;
arms carved in the shell. 2 storey, 3 bay wing to left. Interior. Dining
room has raised and fielded panelling and 6 panel doors. The hall and living
room are also panelled. Open well staircase with panelled, closed string,
twisted and turned balusters; decorative moulded ceiling. The nursery (rear
left room on ground floor) has ovolo moulded beams and a panelled, studded door
which is dated RM 1667.
